Planning Department and Planning Commission

The Planning Department implements the comprehensive plan, zoning ordinances and general development regulations pertaining to the siting and use of land within the City of Chehalis.  

To investigate a particular property, start with the Chehalis Municipal Code and Interactive Zoning Map to discover what the zoning is and the allowed uses.

Our Comprehensive Plan outlines goals for the next 20 years. 

The City Council has reviewed this document in a public workshop prior to the City Council meeting on July 25th.  The update is tentatively scheduled to be heard by the City Council for a decision on August 22nd.  To read this document please click HERE. 

The City of Chehalis is updating the Shoreline Master Plan.  You will find the current draft HERE.  We will update this site with times and dates for hearings and public comment as the information becomes available.  

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission consists of seven members, appointed by the Mayor and City Council, and members serve four year terms.  Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month, at 6:00 PM, at Chehalis City Hall located at 350 N Market Blvd.
