Recreation Park / Penny Playground Improvement Project

Recreation Park and Penny Playground serves as a favorite destination for families and visitors in Chehalis, but after decades of heavy use the park has begun to show its age. The City of Chehalis seeks to improve Recreation Park and Penny Playground in order to increase community use and enjoyment of the park, improve safety and drainage, and potentially add new amenities.

An initial round of public comment took place from Oct. 15 to Nov. 13, 2015. On Nov. 23, the City Council heard a presentation about the initial concepts for Recreation Park and Penny Playground, and the results of this first round of public involvement. The City Council is now considering its options for moving towards a final design.
