Vernetta Smith Chehalis Timberland Library
400 North Market Boulevard
Chehalis, WA 98532
After years of hard work by many volunteers and the generosity of over 500 donors, the new Vernetta Smith Chehalis Timberland Library held its grand opening ceremony on October 18, 2008, and opened to the public on November 4. This Carnegie-inspired library features 9,000 square feet, is fully ADA compliant, has a large community room, and Washington's first drive-through library service window. The library provides comfortable reading areas and two small study rooms.
The library is named in honor of the mother of former Chehalis resident and chief donor, Orin Smith. The facility is built on the site of the previous Chehalis Library and Chehalis City Hall. Visit the Library's website to find out about the many events going on throughout the year.
