WHAT: Street Oiling Preparation
WHERE: The following streets will receive new oil and gravel this year:
SW Riverside Drive from Hwy 6 to SW Newaukum Avenue
SW Newaukum Avenue from SW Riverside Drive to City Limits
SW Sylvenus Street
SW Elzinia Street
NW Louisiana Avenue from Hwy 6 to Twin Town Center driveway
NW Airport Road from NW Louisiana Avenue to city limits
NW Arizona Avenue
NW Prindle Street from NW Quincy Place to dead-end
NE Median Street
NE Hampe Way
NE Exhibitor
NE Scott Johnson Blvd
*NE National Avenue
*NE Kresky Avenue
*We also plan to crack seal National Avenue from Chamber Way to Staples and NE Kresky from Staples to the city limits. There may be traffic back-ups as this work will require that one traffic lane be closed for the safety of the workers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation.
WHEN: Preparation work is scheduled to begin the week of June 6 and the application of oil and rock will begin after July 5. However, this work is weather dependent and inclement weather may cause some delays.
BACKGROUND: The Chehalis Street Division will soon begin preparation of some of our city streets for oiling. Preparation will include grading, some minor street repairs, sweeping and flushing. Some vegetation removal may also be necessary to allow the necessary equipment to travel through the streets. If your abutting property has trees or landscape bushes near the street, we are asking for your cooperation in removing it. All encroaching vegetation not removed will be trimmed as street crews complete their preparation, but we prefer that all vegetation trimming be performed by the property owners as you will be more concerned with the visual impact and we will primarily focus on the utility aspect.
REMEMBER TO GIVE EM A BRAKE AND DRIVE SLOWLY AND CAUTIOUSLY THROUGH CONSTRUCTION ZONES!
