Lodging tax (aka, hotel-motel tax), is a consumer tax on lodging charges for periods of less than 30 consecutive days for hotels, motels, rooming houses, private campgrounds, RV parks, and similar facilities. The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) receives all applications for lodging tax revenue and recommends a list of candidates and funding levels to the City Council for final determination. Organizations eligible to receive funding include:
- Convention and visitors bureaus
- Destination marketing organizations
- Nonprofits
- Municipalities
The LTAC is comprised of at least 5 members (1 elected official as chair; at least 2 representatives of businesses required to collect tax; and at least 2 individuals involved in activities authorized to be funded by revenue received from tax). The balance between business representatives and funded organizations must be equal. Membership is reviewed annually by City Council. If you meet the qualification and would like to apply, please use THIS FILLABLE FORM or THIS PRINTABLE FORM.
