Imagine Downtown Chehalis

Exciting enhancements are on the horizon for historic downtown Chehalis, and we invite our Chehalis community to participate and share your insights as we begin the design process. Your valuable feedback over the course of 2024 will guide final decisions, ensuring that downtown Chehalis fulfills the needs of our citizens as the city invests in creating a safer, more accessible, and interconnected hub for businesses, residents, and visitors alike.

The vision is to craft a timeless and inviting environment that honors downtown Chehalis’s rich heritage while paving the way for a dynamic future. This effort encompasses improvements such as enhancing sidewalks, crosswalks, roadways, and lighting to create a more inviting streetscape.

This project will include Market Boulevard in historic downtown, Washington and Pacific Avenues that encircle the area, and Boistfort Avenue. The redesign encompasses the roadway, sidewalks, general traffic flow, existing amenities, lighting, and surrounding outdoor areas, all aimed at enhancing safety, fostering a strong sense of community, and promoting economic prosperity.

Collaboration is key to the success of this endeavor. The City of Chehalis is working closely with Experience Chehalis, downtown businesses, and property owners to ensure a seamless partnership and minimize disruptions during construction.

The public is welcome to share their thoughts at Mint City Coffee, located at 539 N Market Blvd on Tuesday, June 4th, from 5:30-7:30 PM.
